April 17, 2011

Hello everyone!

Well once again, another week has gone by. This week was amazing!! Yesterday Yuki shimai got baptized!! Her sister got baptized about 4 years ago, and her younger sister followed her example. At the baptismal service, tamayo shimai, the older sister, said that she didn't think this day would come, but now she wants the rest of her family to join this gospel too. Her mom and Dad, who aren't members were there and heard that. The dad is doing REALLY well right now. We talked to him last week about eternal life, and he said he wants it. Hes not completely sure where his wife is right now, whether she has interest or not, but he thinks someday she will open up. He himself has a date for May 7th and is looking really good for that. He came to conference last week, and got a little scared after hearing about some of the commandments. But we met, and things are going well. He really has a lot of interest. He is reading the Book of Mormon a lot.

Tsumura san is also doing really well. This last week he received an answer that this certain scripture was true. Moroni 7. It talks about hope, faith and Charity. We were really excited about that! He finally got an answer!! He has been coming to Church almost every Sunday, reading and praying everyday, and really has sincere prayers to God. Really sincere prayers. He really wants to know. Both him and Yao Kyodai are going really well.

This week I have been reading some of older conference talks, and I have found some really good ones. President Uchtdorf said something cool. He said,

Brethren, when we stand before the Lord to be judged, will He look upon the positions we have held in the world or even in the Church? Do you suppose that titles we have had other than “husband,” “father,” or “priesthood holder” will mean much to Him? Do you think He will care how packed our schedule was or how many important meetings we attended? Do you suppose that our success in filling our days with appointments will serve as an excuse for failure to spend time with our wife and family?

It helped me realize that I shouldn't worry about what status I hold as a missionary, Junior, Senior, ZL, DL, AP. In the end that all doesn't matter. That wont give me an advantage when we return to our Heavenly Father. I'm so grateful for that. I'm grateful for this gospel, and I'm grateful to be a priesthood holder in the latter days. Thanks everyone for all your love and support!!
